[Tutorial] Resizing your images using Photoshop or Picnik PDF Print E-mail

This tutorial will give a brief overview of how to resize your images using Adobe Photoshop and the free online tool Picnik.

Note: Images for the ACI database should be saved as the following as jpeg files:

Thumbnails: exactly 65 x 65 pixels at 72dpi

Full size images: no greater than 800 pixels in any direction at 72dpi.

Picnik (http://www.picnik.com)

Picnik can take some time to load, so be patient...(see this link if you have trouble with Picnik not loading)

  1. Upload your image.
  2. Under the edit tab you may crop and resize your image. To resize, click that button and make sure Keep Proportions is checked.  Change the larger number to 800.  That will make the height or width be 800 px which is the max we allow in the artist database. Click OK.
  3. Click on the Save & Share tab. It will tell you the dimensions of your image, either the height or width should be 800 and the other will be smaller.
    a. Format: jpg. Compression: around 8
    c. File Size: around 100k, adjusts Compression to make your file size smaller or larger.
  4. Click save and it will save on your computer.
