GENERAL GRANTS INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in the funding programs of the Arts Council of Indianapolis. Each year, the Arts Council offers a number of grant programs to the nonprofit arts and cultural community to enhance and support the development of quality arts performances, programs, services, exhibitions, and arts activities throughout central Indiana. We recognize the importance of public financial support to sustain a wide variety of artistic disciplines and expressions. Grant applications are adjudicated in a public process that is free from conflicts of interest and assures fairness and professionalism.
OUR ANNUAL GRANTS PROGRAM
The Arts Council of Indianapolis offers two annual grant programs each year. Each program has its own eligibility requirements and application/guidelines. Additional information about each of these funding opportunities is listed below.
CITY Grants Program (allocation from the City of Indianapolis and the Capital Improvement Board)
Grants in this program are restricted to supporting non-profit arts organizations. Grants in this category enable arts organizations to:
- provide programming and educational opportunities
- promote Indianapolis as a cultural destination
- build the capacity and stability of Indianapolis' arts and cultural organizations
- enhance the economic development of the city through the arts
- share arts programs and activities with underserved audiences
Due to funding cuts made by the City of Indianapolis for the 2009 grant cycle, only organizations that received funding in 2008 will be eligible for funding. Information about the 2009 grant allocation has been sent to eligible organizations.
