The Arts Council of Indianapolis annually awards grants to 501(c)3 arts and cultural organizations as well as arts-specific project grants to local non profit organizations. The City of Indianapolis, through the City-County Council and the Capital Improvement Board, allocates funds to the Arts Council of Indianapolis to grant to Marion County arts and cultural organizations. Funding through our Annual Grants program supports and encourages the stability, development, and vitality of central Indiana’s arts and cultural organizations.

In addition to funding that is allocated to the Arts Council by the City of Indianapolis, we awards funds through the Indiana Arts Commission’s Regional Arts Partner (RAP) program. All grant applications are adjudicated by a panel of arts professionals in a public process that is free from conflicts of interest and assures fairness and professionalism.

Funding from both the City of Indianapolis and the Regional Arts Partner program is available through one application process. The Arts Council of Indianapolis creates and administers both funding programs for central Indiana.

On these pages, you’ll find all the information you need to participate in our Annual Grants program including guidelines and application materials, a toolbox of resources, and a list of frequently asked questions. For additional information, contact:
