Crediting the sources of your funding is an important part of fulfilling your grant agreement. Properly crediting both the City of Indianapolis and the Arts Council of Indianapolis is an important means of showing how public funding is used to support the arts community in Indianapolis. The City Council expects that proper credit will be given at every available opportunity. Failure to comply with this requirement, as outlined in the signed grant agreement, could jeopardize the remaining portion of your 2007 grant and future funding from the Arts Council. The Arts Council, members of the Parks and Recreation Department, and members of the City County Council monitor your publications and communications throughout the year to ensure compliance. The Arts Council has unveiled a new logo that must immediately replace any existing logo that was used previously. The logo is made up of three parts: the graphic element (the hand and the stars), the organization’s name, and the text “Supported by the Arts Council and the City of Indianapolis.” If you cannot use the logo (graphics), such as in donor listings, then you MUST credit both the Arts Council of Indianapolis AND the City of Indianapolis. Please remember that we are the Arts Council of Indianapolis – NOT the Indianapolis Arts Council, NOT the Indiana Arts Council, NOT the Indianapolis (or Indiana) Arts Commission, or any other variation. CREDITING THE REGIONAL ARTS PARTNER PROGRAM (RAP) AND THE INDIANA ARTS COMMISSION One of the best ways you can help sustain public funding for the arts in Indiana is by crediting the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) and your IAC Regional Arts Partner for the grant dollars you receive. One of the conditions of your IAC grant is to display the IAC's Regional Arts Partner logo on all promotional materials related to your funded projects. When this logo appears in your programs, on your press releases, and on your web sites, your audience knows their state and federal tax dollars have helped bring quality cultural opportunities to your organization and their community. When your promotional materials are seen by your state and congressional representatives, they too see the money they allocate to the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts is reaching their constituents. By spreading the word about how your events are supported, you reinforce a positive image in the minds of Indiana's lawmakers about the importance of the arts and the organizations that help bring them to Hoosiers in all regions of our state. There are some simple guidelines for using the logo when giving funding credit. The logo image identifies that the project is provided with support from your Regional Arts Partner organization (the Arts Council of Indianapolis), the Indiana Arts Commission, and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This logo and credit line information must be used to acknowledge the source of the public arts funding you receive from the IAC via your Regional Arts Partner. It should appear in its entirety on any program, press release, or website promotion of an IAC funded activity. The Indiana Arts Commission understands that for some publications and other applications, particularly those not actually produced by the grant recipient, the logo may not be suitable in terms of available reproduction space. According to the IAC's Corporate Identity Standards, the logo must be used unless the publication format is such that the logo must be reduced to a size 3/4 of an inch or smaller. In such cases, the text "Provided with support from the Arts Council of Indianapolis, the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency" may be used.
